Increase your Knowledge. Advance your Skills.
This innovative two-year course of study enhances the knowledge and skills of clinicians. Clinical and theoretical seminars promote the acquisition of a comprehensive foundation in psychoanalytic ideas. Although distinct from the Psychoanalytic Training Program, most of the courses are taught by our faculty.
Admission Requirements
The program is open to
all applicants who hold a current license to practice and to interns who
practice under the auspices of a licensed supervisor. Psychiatric residents
must have completed their first post- graduate year of training. For the
highly qualified non-licensed applicant, occasional exceptions are made
on a case by case basis. Applicants are interviewed by members of the Psychotherapy
Steering Committee.
For complete details about this program, please
consult the brochure and contact the Center at: info@n-c-p.org.
Structure
Seminars meet Wednesday,
7 - 10 p.m., from September to June. In the first year, seminars examine
the essential aspects of psychoanalytic psychotherapy. The second year curriculum
provides a comprehensive survey of human development and the evolution of
psychoanalytic theory.
Case consultative sessions are offered in addition to the seminars. Emphasis
is placed on the use of clinical material for heuristic purposes, rather
than ongoing supervision. For an additional fee, students can augment the
group consultation with individual consultation.
This Program does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, gender,
marital status, religion, sexual orientation, or national or ethnic origin
in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies,
scholarship and loan programs, and other school-administered programs.
